As a schoolboy, he was known for sketching biology illustrations for classmates and drawing the sleek lines of Ferraris and Lamborghinis—early signs of a creative spirit quietly taking shape.\u003c\/p\u003e\n\u003cp class=\"p1\"\u003eAfter school, he studied Physical Education at the University of the Orange Free State, earned a teaching degree, and completed two years of military service, as many young South Africans of his generation did. Teaching posts in Steytlerville, Velddrift, and later Port Elizabeth followed, where he built both a career and a family life.\u003c\/p\u003e\n\u003cp class=\"p1\"\u003eFollowing twenty years in education, Fourie entered the business world, investing in a filling station. Yet it was during this season of life that painting truly called him home.
